Hot-mixed Lime Mortar

Our Hot-mixed, non-hydraulic lime mortar is made at our manufacturing facility using a traditional hot lime process. Instead of just combining lime putty with aggregates, quicklime is mixed with different aggregates with water added to a large 1 tonne mixer.  Combining the aggregates with the lime as it slakes is the traditional and best way to create a lovely sticky mortar. The mortar is then stored or 'banked' in vats to ensure the complete slaking of the quicklime. The cooled mortar is then transfered to our larger bagging plant where its is mixed for the second time before being either bagged into 25kg waterproof bags or 10kg tubs. This wet mix is ready to use straight away or a pozzolan can be added before use.

Availible in two grades: A grittier Coarse Stuff for where there is a wider joint or a larger aggregate is seen in the original pointing and Medium Stuff - suitable for most brickwork with a smaller aggregate.

3 colours - Chalk White, Oatmeal and Chalk white with Black Grit.
