The drill-driven Quikpoint Turbo pointing gun will deliver cement or lime mortars in a controlled and consistent manner. The screw auger feeds the mortar to the end of the nozzel at a consistent rate without compressing the mortar to avoid separation of the mix. A bar above the auger in the hopper is moved slightly up and down via a cam when the drill is operated. This stops any bridging of the mortar within the hopper. The Quickpoint turbo is supplied with a range of nozzels to allow for differing joint sizes. The original Quikpoint mortar pointing gun was created over 30 years ago and thousands have been manufactured and distributed worldwide.

Quickpoint Turbo with universal mounting kit.  This option allows you to fit the Quickpoint Turbo to your existing drill with the universal mounting kit. The multi-drill mounting kit fits onto the rear of most professional brands of cordless drills. It is less suited to economy and DIY drills. Supplied with a mortar scoop and spares kit.

Quickpoint Turbo with Makita or Dewalt drills and mounting kit. Unlike the universal mounting kit, the Makita and Dewalt mounting kits are a custom designed metal clamping bracket specifially shaped to attatch in front of the handle of the drill. This gives a sturdier more robust fit for the Quickpoint Turbo and less bulk at the back of the drill.  The Makita option includes the Makita DHP458Z 18 volt, 2 speed drill with a battery and charger. The Dewalt option is supplied with a DeWalt DCD996 18 volt, 3 speed drill, battery and charger.  Spares kit, mortar scoop and carry bag also included.

Quickpoint Turbo with BARE Makita or Dewalt drills and a custom mounting kit. This option includes the BARE drill, spares kit and mortar scoop and carry bag - no batteries or charger are included.

Quickpoint Turbo with Makita or Dewalt custom mounitng kit. Designed for use with your own Dewalt or Makita drill   The Makita mounting kit is specific to model DHP 458Z. The Dewalt mounting kit can be fitted to models DCD 795, 796, 996 and 999.  Comes with a spares kit and mortar scoop - no drill, batteries or charger are included.

What mortar can I use with the Quikpoint TURBO?                                                                                                                           The Quikpoint TURBO repointing gun is suitable for cement or lime-based mortars.  We have found that our Medium Stuff will flow through the mortar gun however anything coarser than that with a larger aggregate such as our Coarse Stuff will not work. Of the hydraulic mortar mixes we stock we recommend Seciltek's RJ as we have found it works very well.  Ecoright mortars are too gritty and do not flow well through the machine. If you are mixing yourself a maximum aggregate size of 3mm is reccomended.

Will the Quikpoint TURBO repointing gun clog?                                                                                                                                   The Quikpoint TURBO mortar gun uses an auger to deliver the mortar to the pointing nozzle with very little pressure involved. In addition, there is a vibrator rod within the hopper, which agitates the mortar, before it reaches the auger. Due to the nature of lime mortars being generally more gritty and stiffer than cement mortars you may find that you have the odd occasion of clogging. To help maintain a free flowing gun we suggest ensuring the mortar is well mixed allowing it to flow better and if required making it slightly wetter than if pointing by hand. Another cause of clogging can be the vibrator rod not functioning properly – the latter is a simple mechanical arrangement so at worst, it will involve replacing a couple of worn parts

How much can I repoint in a day with a Quikpoint TURBO?                                                                                                       Many factors involved but repointing and ‘striking’ 20 square metres of regular brickwork per day is well within the reach of any competent person and users have reported figures far in excess of this. Quikpoint TURBO pointing guns are also widely used on newbuild facades with brick-slip systems – this application lends itself to particularly high productivity rates.  A Quikpoint TURBO hopper can also be filled in less than 10 seconds.

How long will a Quikpoint TURBO auger last?                                                                                                                                        The impossible question. Wear rate will depend upon the abrasiveness of the mortar. The Quikpoint TURBO mortar gun is fitted with a hardened steel auger. Few people comment on the wear rate or the replacement cost of an auger; many comment how the Quikpoint is so much faster than anything else they have used. The main wear part in a Quikpoint mortar gun is the auger. The auger fits inside a replaceable hard polythene sleeve; a sleeve typically lasts the life of three hardened augers. To maintain efficiency, the Vibrator Rod and Tube combination along with the associated Cam Roller are worth replacing on a regular basis.
