A 4kg bale of finest Shipwright's oakum. Steeped in Stockholm Tar.

Oakum is a loosely twisted rope-like material made from hemp or jute fibres and soaked in a pine tar (Stockholm  Tar).

It has been used for centuries as a natural filler to seal gaps, historically to caulk boat hulls, but also in construction for timber frames or plumbing joints.

The natural fibres ensure breathability, while the pine tar ensures water resistance and durability.

To apply, it is driven into gaps with a caulking iron and can then be covered with a linseed oil putty or mastic.
