Shawford Station Project

The Victorian waiting room at Shawford Station had stood unused for 40 years. Following a £350,000 investment, it has been transformed and brought back to life as a community cafe and hub.

Below is picture of how the front looked prior to the work being carried out.

The bricks were repointed using our Medium Stuff Lime Mortar in Oatmeal. Our Medium Stuff is a non hydraulic lime mortar which means it is a softer and more flexible mortar; ideal for older bricks.

Internally, the walls were plastered with a three coat system using our Coarse Stuff, Medium Stuff and Fine Stuff.

We also supplied Graphenstone Eco Putty which was used to fill any fine cracks.

The paint was specified to match what had originally been on the walls and Graphenstone's GCS paint in Sienna was found to be a close match.
